The IELTS Exam is available in two versions: the IELTS Academic and the IELTS General Training, to cater to the specific needs of individuals seeking admission to universities or migrating to countries where English is the primary language.

IELTS Exam Fees:

The fee for the IELTS exam is determined based on the local currency of each market, which means that it differs depending on the country. The IELTS test fee in India varies according to the test type. IELTS Exam test fees are expected to increase from 1 April. How to pay the IELTS Test fee?

Candidates can register for the IELTS test online or offline, with the payment mode depending on their chosen method for registration, including the following options offered by IDP India. 

1). Net Banking/ Credit card/Debit card: To register for the IELTS exam online, payment can be made through Net banking, credit, or debit cards. No other payment methods are accepted for online registration. 

2). Bank Deposit: Offline registration allows candidates to pay through bank deposit using a slip downloaded from the official IELTS IDP India website or obtained from the nearest IDP India branch office. 

3). Demand Draft: Another payment option for offline registration is to use a demand draft made out to ‘IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED’ and payable in New Delhi, which must be obtained from approved banks.

Cancellation charges:

In case of cancellation of IELTS exam dates, candidates need to be aware of the refund policy.

  • A refund can be claimed if the exam is canceled more than five weeks before the scheduled date, with a 25% administrative fee deduction.
  • No refund will be provided if the exam is canceled less than five weeks before the scheduled test.
  • Not showing up for the exam on the scheduled date makes the candidate ineligible for any refund.
  • Candidates who cancel their test dates for medical reasons can receive a refund by producing an authentic medical certificate five days before the scheduled date, minus local administrative fees.

Rescheduling IELTS Test Date:

  • To reschedule or postpone an IELTS test date, a request must be made at least five weeks before the originally scheduled date.
  • Candidates who opt to postpone their exam dates must pay a rescheduling fee of ₹3,300.
  • Students who choose to transfer their IELTS test date must select a new date within three months of the original test date.
  • It is important to note that an IELTS test date can only be rescheduled or postponed once.

IELTS Exam Rechecking Fee:

If test takers are dissatisfied with their test scores, they can request a recheck by submitting an Enquiry on Results (EOR) form by paying an additional fee of INR 11,625. This facility is available for both individual sections or all sections of the IELTS test.

In case the test taker’s score is raised to a higher band, they will be entitled to a complete refund.

Eligibility Criteria for IELTS Test:

The eligibility criteria for taking the IELTS test are relatively simple. Anyone wishing to take the test must be at least 16. There are no specific educational qualifications required to take the test. However, it is essential to check the requirements of the organization or institution for which the test is being taken, as they may have specific score requirements.
