Canada Permanent Residency Fees Increase from April 30, 2022

Canadian Immigration has announced an increase in Permanent Residency fees for foreign workers, effective from April 30, 2022. These fees include operational, processing and service delivery costs to Apply for Canada PR. It is important to note that IRCC has not increased its immigration fees since 2002. According to the latest news from Canada Immigration, these regulations do not apply to the applications received before the given time. Recent Update in Processing Fees from Canada Immigration

Canada Permanent Residency fees will increase by 50% for economic class applicants. The variations in the processing fees for Canada PR are as follow:

• For all economic business class applicants including self-employed, start-up visa, Quebec investors, Quebec entrepreneur, and Quebec self-employed applicants the processing fees will increase from $1,050 to $1,575;
•  The economic non-business class applicants will see a rise from $550 to $825. However, this change does not apply to principal applicants and their families in the Caregivers programs.
• Spouses or common-law partners of all economic classes have to pay a new processing fee of $550 instead of $825;
• Fees for Dependent children of all economic classes of migrants will go up from $150 to $225.
• The right of the permanent resident fee will increase by $5 from $490 to $500.

The rise in the processing fees is suggested to bring balance to the economy. The governing bodies may announce additional changes in the processing fees by the end of the year. While these variations will be implemented from April 2022, it is important to note that IRCC has not declared any changes in the fees for permanent resident cards, permanent resident travel documents and certification or replacement immigration documents.
